May's Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse in ScorpioMay 15, 2022
Monday Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse (May 16)
This year so far has been full of some high-vibe lunar and solar activity! Monday’s full moon is also known as a “super flower blood moon”, so let’s break that down a little bit.
A blood moon occurs during a lunar eclipse when the Earth is directly between the moon and sun, hiding the moon from any sunlight. The moon will have a faint reddish glow as red wavelengths of reflected sunlight are the only ones visible. It’s also a supermoon, which means it’s at its closest point to the Earth in its orbit, making it appear larger to us.
The name ‘flower moon’ refers to the abundance of flowers growing at this time of year, celebrating Spring.
Bringing that big Scorpio energy, this full moon will cause us to dive deep into our emotional energy reserves to deal with the big changes that are coming as signalled by the lunar eclipse.
Lunar eclipses tend to indicate something ending, and there may be no turning back. We must keep our lines of communication open and clear (thank you, Mercury retrograde) and choose the simplest path forward. Lots of self-care is needed to cast aside fears and doubts and hold a steady course.
