Entering The Garden
You are a goddess - Yes you...
You carry within you a universe of strength, beauty, and ancient wisdom. At Universal Movement, we honour this sacred truth. This is a space created for you to reconnect with your essence, to explore every facet of your being, and to embody the divine power that has always been yours.
In a world where lines blur many of us have felt forced to navigate a world shaped by society ideals, where the natural flow of feminine energy is undervalued, misunderstood, or dismissed as weakness. We’ve been conditioned to suppress our softness, intuition, and creativity, made to believe that strength only looks one way—hard, unyielding, and outwardly aggressive. But the truth is, femininity holds its own kind of power—a power that is fluid, intuitive, and deeply transformative and feared.
Femininity is not weakness —it’s a force of nature and it's no wonder so many of us fear it. It’s both soft and fierce, the calm and the storm. In a world that taught us to dim it, we’re here to reclaim it. To move with it. To rise with it. Through intuition, creativity, and connection, we remember the quiet power that reshapes everything it touches.
Here is the garden you can explore all types of light & dark feminine classes, where you are invited to reconnect with yourself, embrace your authentic power, and reclaim the divine energy that is you. ✨

Why should you join?
Many mothers struggle to find a balance between caring for their children and maintaining a sense of self. Maybe you've felt lost in the daily grind, unable to carve out time for self-care or personal growth. Perhaps you've tried various methods like reading parenting books, joining mum groups, exhausting yourself with fitness routines only to find that they don’t address the deeper emotional and mental challenges you're facing.
You’ve been misled by the idea that motherhood should be all about sacrifice and that it's selfish to focus on your own needs. This mindset often leads to burnout, guilt, and a sense of inadequacy. Scorpio Rising -Â Astrology movement empowerment workshops
Meet Alexe Â
In 2017, my life changed dramatically with the arrival of motherhood and a move to France. I was navigating a new country, a new culture, and caring for a baby who was a poor sleeper, all while trying to manage my business from afar. Eventually, I made the difficult decision to leave my co-founder & CEO position at London Dance Academy, which left me feeling lost, burnt out, and disconnected from myself.
It was during this challenging time that I discovered Yoga Nidra, medical Astrology and the healing power of aligning with the sun & moon cycles. These practices helped me recover from sleep deprivation, restore balance to my nervous system, and find a new easy approach to cyclical living,  self-care that is aligned uniquely by utilising my birth chart this combination allowed me to thrive, not just survive, as a mother, partner, business owner, but also helped me stop the overwhelm with other responsibilities we have as women.
Today, as a Yoga Nidra instructor, self care astrologer, moonologer, and holistic wellness coach, my mission is to empower others—especially mothers—by aligning self-care with the rhythms of nature and their unique birth charts. This isn't just about healing in times of crisis; it's about preventing burnout and living in a way that allows you to truly thrive.
What does dark feminine mean?
The dark feminine is the hidden wellspring of power that lives deep within us, often veiled in mystery and misunderstood by the world. She is the keeper of transformation, the quiet force behind endings and beginnings, the sacred guide through shadow and rebirth. Unlike the nurturing softness of the light feminine, the dark feminine embraces the full spectrum of human experience—grief, rage, sensuality, intuition, and fierce self-protection. She teaches us that our so-called "darkness" is not something to fear, but a source of profound wisdom, strength, and authenticity. To walk with the dark feminine is to reclaim the lost parts of ourselves, to honor the raw, untamed beauty of our emotions, and to move beyond societal expectations into deeper wholeness. She is found in the cycles of the moon, the ancient myths of goddesses like Kali and Hecate, and the silent knowing that lives within our bones. In awakening the dark feminine within, we remember that true empowerment lies not in denying our depths, but in embracing them fully, tenderly, and without shame.
What does light feminine mean?
The light feminine is the radiant heart of creation, the gentle current of love, compassion, and renewal that flows through all life. She is the nurturer, the muse, the healer—the embodiment of softness, intuition, and grace. Where the dark feminine teaches through descent and transformation, the light feminine lifts us into states of joy, connection, and blossoming. She lives in the warmth of the sun, the laughter of children, the open arms of forgiveness, and the fertile earth awakening in springtime. To awaken the light feminine is to remember the art of being present, to delight in beauty, to open our hearts without fear. She teaches us to trust the natural rhythms of growth and to offer ourselves and others the tenderness needed for true flourishing. Through her, we learn that vulnerability is not weakness, but a profound and sacred strength. In embracing the light feminine within, we are invited into a dance of wholeness—a return to innocence, wonder, and the boundless love that is our truest essence.
What is the  importance in having balance in light & dark feminine?
To be whole is to dance between the light and the dark within us. The light feminine teaches us to open, nurture, create, and love, while the dark feminine teaches us to protect, transform, release, and stand in our power. Without the light, we may close off our hearts, losing softness and joy. Without the dark, we risk losing our boundaries, our depth, and our sovereignty. True feminine embodiment is not about choosing one side over the other, but about weaving both energies into a harmonious flow—allowing ourselves to be both tender and fierce, vulnerable and powerful, nurturing and discerning. When we honor both aspects, we step into our fullest expression, no longer fearing parts of ourselves but embracing them as sacred. In this balance, we find authentic strength, profound wisdom, and the ability to live with both an open heart and a grounded soul.
What is Empowering Motherhood?
A supportive virtual hub with live group sessions where you can share with other members and with live and prerecorded yoga and cookery classes to help you to thrive.
Why we Created Empowering Motherhood?Â
Motherhood is an extraordinary journey, one that completely alters your daily life, and your entire sense of self. In our culture motherhood is often depicted as joyful and fulfilling, yet what isn’t depicted as much is that the transition from woman to mother involves complex emotions and challenges and is heavily influenced by societal ideals.
Matrescence is the term coined by Dana Raphael to describe the profound transformation that women undergo throughout motherhood. In current times we are witnessing a shift in cultural understanding that highlights how little we have educated and prepared women for Matrescence. We are also seeing how much women’s emotions get pathologised during Matrescence and there are calls for systemic change.
The truth is Matrescence is hard, but, it is normal.
When women understand this and they are properly held and supported, they are empowered to meet the challenges with strength and then they can flourish as women and as mothers.
The "Empowering Motherhood" program is pioneering in this sense because it offers all that is currently missing in society.
Quality community for quality interrelating.
Quality practices for quality self care.
Quality support for quality healing and rejuvenation.
This container offers a support package that leaves you feeling supported, connected, and capable as a mother, with space and energy to explore your aspirations, desires, and well-being.
This is the transformation we offer: A shift from feeling depleted and overwhelmed to feeling empowered, nurtured, and resilient.
It will empower you to navigate the complexities of Matrescence with grace, giving you the tools to heal the rough edges and balance the mother work and self actualisation.
What can I expect from the morning routine class?
Each moon cycle we will offer one live community morning session for you to start the day in the most nourishing and empowering way.
These sessions will feature a gentle sequence of body and breath work. During these sessions you can expect to be encouraged to journal stream of consciousness to capture the insights from dreams, to integrate healing, gain insights for life’s challenges or rites of passage and catch new inspirations for projects or different parenting methods as your child develops. You can also expect some mindfulness practice to support you to ground into the day with focus, clarity and peace. You can also expect some intention setting, ritual and mantra as we move through the phases of the solar and lunar cycles.Â
All these elements will be seamlessly woven into the practices by our facilitator so all you have to do is wake up, jump on the app and allow yourself to be guided perfectly into your day.
If the community feel to connect after the session the room can be left open for that extra connection and morning chats.
We feel strongly that these sessions will inspire you to create your own routines for productive, well-regulated and fulfilling days where you flourish, both as a woman and a mother. If you aren't keen on trying waking before the kids then we’ve got your back because you membership gives you access to our video library. That means no matter the time, no matter your mood, no matter your energy levels, there will always be a resource to nurture and empower you.
What Can I expect from the restorative yoga online class?
Each moon cycle we will also offer one live 90 minute restorative yoga session. These sessions will be deeply indulgent and healing. We appreciate the challenge motherhood is to the nervous system and how little we are held in our culture as women who take on so much responsibility in our mother work. During these session you will hear reassuring affirmations and gentle meditative prompts which are specifically focused on soothing and mending the rougher edges of the maternal experience to help heal threads of mum guilt, mum shame, maternal ambivalence and maternal overwhelm.Â
When the consciousness is aware but the mind is slowed down we can access the multidimensional layers of our self and reality, which makes these sessions great for weaving in connection to feminine ancestors, or ancient motherliness to make prayers and receive healing across time and space.Â
We will weave in this deeper mending as part of these live restorative yoga sessions.
Rainbows research showed it takes a village, not to raise a child, but to raise a mother and that as mothers in a western, individualistic world we do so much with so little. This takes it’s toll on our psyche and our nervous systems during Matrescence and we hold this in our awareness during these sessions, where we help you to integrate the mother work and personal development, soothe your nervous system, rest your body and heal your heart and mind.Â
We create a safe space and take a trauma informed approach to this work and sometimes and for some people, these sessions may bring emotional release.
Obviously, we welcome and always encourage you to welcome the healing if it occurs but we also acknowledge the nature of the virtual domain and considering we are not together in person we also always advocate for self responsibility and advise you to take care of your needs and always listen to and honour your body.
These sessions will mainly take place during the day when children are at school, but we also acknowledge some of you will have smaller children and that some of you may be breastfeeding. We encourage you to still come to these longer live sessions and engage as much as you can.
For those who need shorter sessions, at different times, we have got it covered in the video library where you can watch replays, enjoy shorter prerecorded restorative sequences and yoga nidra sessions.
So, no matter how long you have you will always be able to jump on the app and receive. If that wasn’t enough, we are also offering you free access to the live dark moon yoga nidra session which is usually reserved only for moveology community.
What Can I expect for the cookery class?
These days mums have so much more to focus on than in the previous generations, for example, we are more aware than ever of the state of the natural world, which urges us to look at our levels of conscious consumerism. We are more aware of our health and with rising concerns over the impact of stress on cancer, heart disease and diabetes, we are tying to improve our wellbeing and our nutrition. Yet, with the rise of living costs it isn’t easy to incorporate healthy, delicious, economical and eco sensitive food into our lives. Developing new eating habits on top of all the other work we have to do as mothers can be challenging with so much on our plates (pardon the pun) already. That is why at empowering motherhood we bring you prerecorded cookery classes, featuring batch cook meals saving you time, effort, money and energy and increasing the nutrition, creativity and health of your family and creating more time to enjoy more presence with your children.
All you have to do is go into the app, choose the meal, check the shopping list, follow the recipe or follow the video and enjoy! Watch the variety grow in your freezer over time for when you want a night off.
What Can I expect from the online circle?
The monthly live check with the community will feature a short, guided centring practice followed by a co-listening practice. These containers will be your safe place to connect with others who have similar experiences and values. Research shows women’s development in relational, processual and emotional which means the relational medicine from these circles will be supportive and empowering to your ongoing Matrescence journey.
When we are given this space to find our own wisdom and when we are held during our emotions, instead of pathologised or patronised we evolve into deeper embodiment of what it means to be woman.
Because this container is for mums who have dynamic schedules and varying waking and bedtime routines, the live meetings will vary in their schedule.
What Can I Expect from the Online Yoga Nidra Sessions?
With each moon cycle, Empowering Motherhood offers live Yoga Nidra online classes led by Alexe, designed to provide profound rest and renewal. Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative practice, and we recognise the unique challenges that motherhood places on the nervous system. In a society that often overlooks the immense responsibilities carried by women and mothers, these sessions provide a much-needed space to relax, reset, and heal.
Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, Alexe gently guides you with soothing affirmations and prompts to restore your energy and rebalance your nervous system. In a world that pressures us to always be on the go and do it all, these classes are an invitation to pause, prioritise yourself, and embrace the rest you deserve.Â
Day Time Naps
With us you can experience day time cosmic cat naps, where Alexe will take you on a short guided Yoga Nidra meditation for deep rest, these are specifically designed to replenish your energy that is so needed during also phases of motherhood.
Designed for those who are super busy on the go and require shorter practices or need flexibility, our video library offers a variety of options. These cosmic cat naps are also recorded and added to the library so you can enjoy them time and time again on your time schedule. Â
Yoga Nidra for sleep
Alexe also holds a live online Yoga Nidra class each dark moon phase that allows you to align and let go with cyclical living. The dark moon is a highly important and often over looked time in the lunar cycle that allows us to release our energy. This additional session allows you to experience the deep, nurturing power of Yoga Nidra at one of the most restorative times in the lunar cycle.
What is Matrescence?
Matrecence is akin to adolescence, but instead of going from child to adult, the journey is from woman to mother. Plus, adolescence stops at adulthood but Matrecence continues for life. Mother's will always be shifting in response to their own and their childrens needs and development. So women will always be going through Matrecentric shifts as they grow in tandem with their children. An emerging term which reframes they way women and culture view Motherhood. Previously womens individual needs and the way Motherhood impacts her have not been central, but Matrecence places the woman at the centre of a complex and challenging personal transformation. This new framework will help society to better help women who are mothers. Plus it will help women be better prepared for the massive change in themselves as well as their lives.
How do I access the circles and classes?
Through the App direct from your device.Â
What equipment do I need?
The things you will need vary depending on the class. For example, during the yoga classes, you will need a yoga mat, bolsters, blankets, cushions, eye masks, etc. During the cookery sessions, you will be given a shopping list and recipe beforehand. We will notify you of exactly what you need way in advance of the class.Â
Is this for new mum's only?Â
Definitely not. As children grow mothers must constantly re-evaluate the dynamics in their lives. No matter which stages of Matrecence a woman is in she will always need a safe space to share with other mothers who have shared and similar experiences. She will also always benefit from self care practices and healthy habits to make her feel held and resourced.
Can the kids come to a class?Â
Of course, we understand that children will be in the same space as you some, most or even all of the time depending on their age and your child care opportunities.
You can also catch the practice recordings when you have space to be fully present with yourself to get the most out on the membership.
How long are the classes and when are they?
Duration and calendar will vary, most of the sessions will be at the weekend, some during the week. Duration between 30 and 90 mins. checking the calendar and notifications will give you all the information you need way in advance of the class.Â
